Profile
Greyson Grant, 18-years-old hailing from Encinitas, CA, recently competed in the ISA World Surfing Games (2023) held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Greyson began surfing at the age of 12, but it was at 15 that he truly dedicated himself to the competitive side of the sport. Despite California not being renowned for its powerful waves, Grant’s love for exploration led him to travel extensively. During the off-season, he frequents Mexico to acclimate himself to more challenging water conditions.
In the summer of 2023, he ventured into international competition on the Europe QS, seeking exposure and gaining insights from European surfers. While he represents Sweden on a national level, California will always be his home. This mild-mannered prodigy has been competing in the public eye since the age of 13 when he first paddled out at Seaside, his backyard break, which happens to be the favorite of many local professionals. By 14, he had mastered a wide variety of ocean conditions, and his breadth of ocean knowledge was compounded by the local San Diego legends/sages, as well as visiting the Hawaiian Islands, Central America, and Indonesia. With their help, he navigated the pitfalls of early events with humility and an unmatched style. His love of travel and appetite for progression have helped him establish his position in the lineup and competitive field, currently ranking on the QS.
